Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 November 2026
Learn the World is made by Tom French, an independent developer in the United Kingdom ("we"). This policy explains what the app collects and why.
The short version
You can play without an account, and then nothing leaves your phone. If you sign in with Apple, we store your game results so your progress follows you and friends can compare times. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind, and we never sell or share your data.
Playing as a guest
Without signing in, your progress, stars and settings are stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes them.
If you sign in with Apple
We store:
- A sign-in identifier from Apple, so we know it's you.
- Your name and email address, only if you choose to share them with Apple's sign-in. Apple lets you hide your email, in which case we only see a private relay address. We use your first name to greet you in the app.
- Your explorer profiles: the names you type and the characters you pick from the app.
- Your game results: which games you played, at which level, your times and which answers were right or wrong. We use these for your progress, stars, records and rankings.
- Friends: your friend code and the friends you add. Friends can see your explorer names, characters and best times.
Rankings show only the explorer name you chose, never your Apple name.
What we don't collect
No analytics, advertising identifiers, location, contacts or photos, and no tracking across other apps and websites.
Where it's stored
Signed-in data is stored with our database provider, Supabase, on servers in London, United Kingdom. It's protected so that each player can only read and change their own data.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while you have an account. You can delete your account and everything linked to it at any time from inside the app: Profile, Settings, Delete account. Deletion is permanent, removes you from your friends' lists and rankings, and disconnects the app from your Apple ID. You can also ask us to delete it by emailing the address below.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing the address below. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
Learn the World is designed for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
